At Piedmont CPA Group, our professionals have a range of experience with individuals, businesses and fiduciaries. Our CPAs and bookkeeping staff are enrolled in continuing education on an ongoing basis to stay abreast of current tax issues, technology changes, and accounting requirements. We also participate in the AICPA Peer Review program which reviews our compliance with professional standards and requirements.
Protection of our internal systems and our client data is of utmost importance to us. We engage an external IT consultant to maintain our systems, assist with documentation and regular backup procedures, and oversee firewall and anit-virus protection systems. Client documents that are not returned to the client directly are shredded prior to disposal.
While we always enjoy meeting clients in our offices in Nellysford, we maintain many client relationships virtually and provide serices throughout the country. By utilizing our web-based client portal and other secure communication strategies, we have great success in providing a full range of our serices remotely.
Meet Our Team Members:
Dennis C. Bailey, CPA
Dennis joined the firm in 2019, primarily to serve owners of private companies with management advisory services, accounting and audit services, and effective tax management strategies. Common among these services is his focus on functioning relationships with clients of the firm and his commitment to being available to them as a trusted advisor. Joining the dedicated staff of the firm enhances the value of its “one firm” approach, providing clients a full array of resources, experience and skills from a team with one common goal- creating value for our clients.
Dennis earned his accounting degree from Liberty University and is an avid Flames fan. He and his wife Terry continue to celebrate their 30-year marriage and are grateful for their son, Hunter, who is a CPA at the Northern Virginia office of a large international firm. Dennis feels at home in the YMCA and enjoys outdoor activities, including the development of a 20-acre botanical garden he and Terry started in 2009 in Concord, Virginia.
Julia W. Rogers, CPA
Julia founded the firm in 2009 after relocating from Central Virginia, where she was a Tax Partner with a large local firm. With extensive experience in the areas of compliance and planning for individuals and fiduciaries, Julia particularly enjoys the personal aspect of working with clients. Listening to our client's needs has always been a key component of these client relationships.
Julia graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Horticulture, but her employment led her into the accounting field. She returned to school in Richmond, where she obtained a Masters of Accountancy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Away from the office, she enjoys visiting with children and grandchildren in Texas and Colorado. The horticulture degree comes in handy in her vegetable and flower gardens, although sometimes the weeds have to wait on good golf days.
Scott L. Shively, CPA
Scott joined the firm in December 2020. He has worked as a tax professional for his entire career in larger, regional public accounting firms in the Roanoke/Blacksburg area. His expertise primarily includes the areas of high net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations.
Scott graduated from Virginia Tech with dual bachelor degrees, one in Accounting and Informations Systems and the other in Finance. His ideal weekend would be spent in Blacksburg on a crisp October morning, tailgating in a parking lot waiting to walk into Lane Stadium to watch the Hokies win.
Linda R. Andary
Linda joined our firm in 2015 and has grown as a professional bookkeeper through diverse work experience and hands-on training. She is certified in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, including full-service payroll. Linda’s work allows a coordinated team approach to serving our closely-held business client's payroll, bookkeeping, financial recording, and tax reporting needs. Linda’s faithfulness to our clients is a model for our firm. She is a native of Afton and has deep family roots in our community. She is a proud mother to an adult son and daughter, and grandmother to four. She also enjoys her pets and everything about rural living.
Chrisann joined our team in 2019, bringing to the firm her 15 years' experience as a small business owner in the local community. In addition to her A.A.S. from ETSU, she has just added to her entrepreneur DNA the work-effort and related education necessary to provide exceptional QuickBooks, payroll, and tax compliance services to our clients. She represents our firm's selfless ambition and honest diligence. In addition to her responsibilities at the firm, she is an exceptional gardener and enjoys cooking and spending time with her family!
Greg joined our firm as an experienced intern in 2019 while he continues to serve as a full time consultant for a national firm. Greg graduated cum laude from Bridgewater College and is continuing his accounting studies with the University of Virginia.
When he's not at his desk, you can find Greg playing in the Community Orchestra or hiking with his family.
Janelle M. Harrop - Administrative Assistant
Since joining the firm in 2019, Janelle has become our firm's go-to source for organization, administration, and efficiency. Janelle is the master "traffic-director" of our firm -- scheduling appointments, managing our databases, and coordinating client work-flow. She ensures our office operates with zero chaos and with defined elegance.
She earned an A.S. in Early Education and an A.A. in Fine Arts from PVCC. She is an avid gardener and seamstress, and excels in marketing, design, and performance art. At home in Nelson County since 2012, she has learned to cherish it's community, history, and breathtaking scenery.
